STIGGENASTY - ROADKILL 12" single - PREORDER January 30th

It’s never too late to debut. To try something for the first time, defy reason, and throw caution to the wind.

After more than 40 years as songwriter and lyricist in Denmark’s most beloved rock band, D-A-D’s flamboyant bassist Stig Pedersen is finally stepping out on his own. Recording under the name Stiggenasty — a nickname that has followed him since the early ’90s — he’s ready to release his first solo record.

“If not now, then never,” says Stiggenasty. “This is a gift to myself — to record something I truly love, that means something to me.”

The debut single, “Roadkill,” featuring two versions of the same track — one in English and one in German (“Roadkill/Beifang”). The song was written specifically for Stiggenasty by Finnish musician Kari Hokkanen, frontman of Swedish gothic/doom metal band Stillborn, and is a gritty, cinematic slice of rock’n’roll swagger.

A lifelong student of punk’s raw energy, Stiggenasty traces his musical roots back to New York City’s legendary CBGB scene, the birthplace of bands like Ramones, Blondie, Dead Boys, and his personal hero Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers.

Produced by Nick Foss and recorded at Grapehouse Studio in Copenhagen, Roadkill features a handpicked lineup including Peter Sandorff (Hola Ghost, ex-Nekromantix) as bandleader and creative partner, Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes, Psyched Up Janis).

The records are numbered on the outer plastic. Limited edition 300 units.
